I don’t know about you guys, but making a delicious and well-balanced breakfast, though it sounds great, is not something I can usually handle early in the morning before work. I need something that’s ready to go and that requires zero work. Seriously. Zero. Though breakfast bars are a tasty option sometimes, I need a break from those too. Enter Overnight Oats.
Sometimes oatmeal can be a little…thick? Boring? But not these oats. There’s enough other stuff going on to make these oats interesting AND delicious. And you can personalize these however you’d like once you add the base ingredients. I’m going to share my favorite combo with you, but you can change out the fruit or the flavor of the protein powder or…anything!
- 1/2 cup old-fashioned oats
- 1/2 cup almond milk
- 1 scoop vanilla protein powder (I prefer EAS brand)
- 2tbsp PB2
- Pinch of stevia
- 1/2 cup frozen sliced strawberries
Put it all together the night before you want to have a delicious breakfast ready and waiting for you, and enjoy the next morning!
I make this breakfast frequently when I am meal prepping for the week (which I talked in depth about in my post about making meal planning work for you). In the fridge, the oats are still good at the end of the week.
Do you do your own version of overnight oats? What other breakfasts do you prepare ahead of time?
